These Substack entries have been much harder than I originally intended. I love to write, but my book writing has taken priority. I have a deadline of February 28th to have the manuscript to the editor. I work best with deadlines. Some people are the planners, the plotters. Not me. I just work away at everything in my life until a “deadline” appears. And I am ready to jump. I like the rush of the cramming. I am allowed to say I did the best I could within the time period. Otherwise I edit and change and rewrite all in the name of ‘perfection’. Which of course, does not exist.
The book progress has not stopped. There are generous friends taking the time to read chapters and make suggestions. I love this collaborative process. I am sending out letters to those who have stories included. Your permission is needed before I put in your story. Thus far, all the tales are good to go. My changes have secured anonymity. Your story has become ‘our’ story. Unless you are a family member and I mention a niece or nephew, son or daughter. You can probably not avoid recognition. Still I will send you the chapter for permission.
Stay tuned for a future update. Don’t know when. Not making any promises I can’t keep. This time. So until the next post…stay interested. Keep on loving those adult kids and holding on to your own values and time. All the best!
